Purchasing Assistant:
We are JC Sales, the established leader in wholesale distribution! JC Sales provides great benefits for the employees including healthcare, sick day pay, vacations, and matching 401(k). We are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join our team at our office located in the city of Vernon.
Major Responsibility:
A Purchasing Assistant has the responsibility of assisting the Purchasing team with new item set-ups, administrative needs, Showroom assistance. This includes learning about the products and services we sell and about the products and services we purchase. The Purchasing Assistant will:
- Assist Buyers by helping them set up new items in the system.
- Maintain new and regular item samples for distribution to the Showroom as well as requesting new samples for the purpose of displaying in the Showroom.
- Perform various clerical duties as needed. This includes filing, updating information in the system, collecting, and maintaining vendor requirements.
- Assist in Showroom needs, special projects, and vacations.
Duties of the Purchasing Assistant:
- Set up new items in the Item Maintenance system.
- Verify information provided for accuracy.
- Classify items in their correct class or group.
- Conduct clerical duties as requested.
- Assist in maintaining item integrity in the Showroom.
Required Skills:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Proficient in Excel)
- Basic math skills
- Gramar skills, reading, writing, spelling (English)
- Retail Experience (Grocery)
Reporting to/Supervised by: Senior Buyer (or Buyer, Purchasing Supervisor, Purchasing Manager)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
