EHS Specialist
Position Purpose
In this role, the EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) Specialist will support JCB North American
headquarters operations located in Pooler, GA. This role will support the EHS Manager in all areas applicable to OSHA general industry manufacturing as well as all Federal and State Environmental responsibilities typical to manufacturing operations. Working alongside the EHS Manager, this position will be a “boots on the ground” role with opportunity for a wide range of exposures and growth in the EHS field.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities
· Provide day to day support for all core OSHA programs and standards applicable to general industry manufacturing

Support in the development and updates of OSHA and Environmental policies, programs and standards
·
Assist with and lead incident investigations (first aid, near misses, recordable, environmental and property damage) using a team-based approach to problem solving and to effectively implement corrective actions
·
Support and assist in maintaining OSHA 300 recordkeeping, documentation, and reporting
·
Assist in preparation and delivery of EHS performance reports for leadership
·
Support the initiatives and efforts to successfully implement ISO 14001 for JCB North America
·
Support compliance with all environmental programs to include, stormwater, wastewater (NPDES), SPCC, RCRA, and other Federal and State regulatory requirements
·
Assist with or lead Federal, State and County environmental reporting and documentation requirements, such as Tier II, TRI, Discharge Monitoring Reports, hazardous waste manifests, etc.

Support implementation of sustainability and recycling initiatives
·
Conduct EHS related inspections and audits, generate reports and communicate findings.
·
Provide day-to-day technical safety and health advice and consultation to employees and contractors
·
Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with all levels of management, peers, and employees
·
Work closely with all department managers and employees to drive, build and sustain a healthy safety culture
·
Work and communicate with injured employees, medical professionals, claims staff and others to obtain the necessary information to ensure best interest of employees and the company are met
·
Assist in development, implementation, and delivery of EHS related training programs, including new hire and refresher training for all employees as needed
·
Serve as incident commander during fire and/or medical emergency responses

Minimum Qualifications
Must pass any drug screens, background checks and any pre-employments tests as applicable.
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Safety related field or equivalent
3 years EHS related experience in general industry manufacturing environments with direct exposure to environmental and/or health and safety field
Preferred Qualifications

Hold or making progress toward GSP/ASP or CSP preferred
·
Environmental certifications, experience preferred
·
Basic understanding of fire protections systems a plus, but not required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies

Basic Knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety Regulatory Compliance
·
Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in communication and persuasion in employee interactions
·
Knowledge of applicable 29 CFR 1910 - OSHA General Industry Standards

Training development and delivery
·
Knowledge and skill in using a variety of computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications
·
Integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of information
·
Public speaking and presentation skills
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform continuous, repetitious physical activities. These activities may involve fine movements or large motions
Must be able to grasp/pinch small items, reach out and up, and turn wrist
Must be able to push/pull with reasonable force
Must be able to perform the following requirements of bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time
Must be able to work in multiple climates including hot/cold temperatures, and
