Early childhood floater

Principal Responsibilities :

  • Keep children safe in the water
  • Safely walk children from their classroom to the pool and back
  • Both in and out of the pool, provide constant supervision of the children and take care of their welfare, health and safety
  • Engage in positive, developmentally appropriate interactions with children while setting appropriate limits, providing active listening, problem solving and positive redirection
  • Help support established classroom schedules as directed by the teaching team
  • Maintain compliance with all current North Carolina Division of Child Development guidelines within the classroom and outdoors
  • Communicate with parents and guardians in a positive manner
  • Remain flexible and responsive to schedule changes or emerging needs throughout scheduled shift, helping where needed

Required Skills / Abilities :

Use of basic computer skills such as e-mail, communication apps, word documents, Zoom meetings

Qualifications : Education :

Education :

Enrolled in High School or High School Diploma

Experience :

Experience caring for children ages 0-5 preferred

Certifications :

  • NC Qualifying Letter (criminal background check)
  • Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification (within 90 days of employment)
  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Ability to comply with all regulatory policies and procedures
  • Must pass a drug screening

Additional :

Physical Requirements :

Must be able to lift and provide responsive care for a child less than 40 lbs on flat and sloped terrain, indoors and outdoors
