What are the responsibilities and job description for the Permanency Planning Trainer position at JCCA?
Job Summary:
Working in partnership with program leadership, the Permanency Planning Trainer is responsibility for the development and facilitation of training related to permanency planning for children in the agency’s Foster Home Services and Campus programs. Working in partnership with program leadership as well as members of the Program Quality and Practice Improvement teams, the trainer will identify needed trainings to support staff working with families toward permanency for children. Training can include, but are not limited to concurrent planning, developing FASPs and permanency plans, understanding FTC purpose and protocols, engaging families and youth in permanency and service planning, understanding the family court system, family finding tenets, family visitation and coaching, etc. with the goal of supporting expeditious, safe, and permanent outcomes for children in foster care.
Essential Generic Job Functions:
- Work in partnership with program leadership and Program Quality team to identify areas of needed training for case planners, foster parents, and other stakeholders related to permanency planning.
- Develop curricula and facilitate related trainings as needed, including but not limited to: concurrent planning, family visitation, family engagement, family service planning, FTC purpose and protocols, understanding and managing the family court system, case management and referral protocols, care coordination protocols, etc.
- Liaise with program directors and supervisors to ensure training compliance for staff and provide documentation of trainings as needed.
- Liaise with program directors and case management teams to schedule regular, monthly case management and enrichment trainings.
- Participate in case review meetings and aggregate incident review meetings in order to identify gaps in knowledge and develop training plans accordingly.
- Under guidance of Assistant Director, partner with LMS Coordinator to develop and incorporate learning paths into the agencies Learning Management System.
- Partner with practice improvement staff to develop and translate practice guides into case management/permanency planning curricula and to facilitate said curricula.
- Responsible for implementing, facilitating, and tracking staff compliance with internal and external mandated trainings.
- Participate in development and facilitation of cross-divisional trainings including the Core Curriculum, LGBTQ, and other training mandates.
- Identify and register staff for external trainings as required; identify and engage external trainers/vendors as required.
- Liaison with external stakeholders, including ACS and OCFS, as needed to understand and implement training requirements.
- Assist in roll-out of training initiatives agency-wide.
- Assist in roll-out of trainings related to evidence-based models as required.
- Participate in all mandatory trainings and optional trainings that enhance practice
- Any other duties assigned
Knowledge, Education and Skills Required:
- BA or MSW (preferred) and 2 years of experience with child welfare case planning.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent computer and data entry skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to train in both individual and group settings.
- Knowledge of child welfare case planning (in both foster home and residential, preferred)
- Training experience preferred
Physical Requirement:
