Enterprise Architect

POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
The Enterprise Architect is responsible for the creation, maintenance and management of a technology roadmap that is aligned with business needs, reflects best practices, and increases option value for the organization. The role is responsible for maintaining enterprise architecture models and associated design components. The position is required to interpret, use and apply their knowledge and expertise in IT architecture to inform a range of technology-driven business improvement activities. The Enterprise Architect is expected to ensure that the overall IT architecture is maintained in a coherent manner and that appropriate considerations are made for its extensibility, security and quality. The Enterprise Architect will ensure that the respective business, application, data and technology perspectives are in line with the organization's technology and governance strategies, policies and standards. The role is expected to provide technology thought leadership addressing complex project issues by facilitating alignment across disparate teams. The position is required to interpret, use and apply their knowledge and expertise in data architecture application design, automation and cloud technology to drive solutions across all business areas.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The primary responsibilities and key performance indicators of this position are:
* Define Enterprise Architecture strategies, principles, vision, standards, tools and methodologies.
* Develop/enhance and lead execution of the technology roadmap for the organization aligning it with strategic business goals covering all critical enterprise applications and technologies.
* Responsible for architectural oversight and governance of all architects, across solutions, ensuring adherence to core principles, standards, and timeliness.
* Lead and champion cloud platform architecture, design, adoption, and modernization.
* Define enterprise application integration capabilities including the use of services-based frameworks and other data integration technologies and strive for continuous improvement.
* Provide architectural oversight of a data and analytics platform that integrates varied sources of data and delivers business value while aligning with the ESA frameworks.
* Advocate and leads the use of standard software engineering delivery methodologies and security ensuring strong business engagement and adoption.
* Provide leadership and guidance on all aspects of technology during an implementation project including, but not limited to, requirements analysis and design, product selection, vendor selection, component selection, configuration, development, conversions, system testing, cut over and production support.
* Champion the use of visual modeling tools for defining technology architectures.
* Coordinate and partner across teams to capture business processes, data domains, application/technical architecture in relevant modeling tools, centrally managed for all systems.
* Ensure architecture documentation is maintained and kept in sync with current state as part of architectural oversight across teams and projects.
* Collaborate with wider portfolio community in sharing best practices, lessons learned. Constantly updates the technical system architecture based on evolving technologies and products.
* Understand and lead future IT infrastructure needs, working with IT Infrastructure architects (in-house, partners and vendors) to develop an approach that fits the current and planned needs of the organization.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & COMPETENCIES
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
* Minimum twelve or more years' experience translating complex business requirements into technology solutions that achieve business goals and also meet performance, scalability, quality and extensibility needs
* Minimum ten years experience in software and systems development, integration, and architecture
* Minimum six or more years as an architect for enterprise applications and or technology solutions architecture with a proven track record as the lead architect on two or more large scale enterprise systems
* Minimum five years of experience with AWS or Azure of which at least three should be as an architect or technical lead role
* Knowledge of full stack technology concepts including enterprise architecture, application architecture, databases, software, cloud computing, UI design
* Strong experience with object-oriented design and modelling, SOLID principals, TDD
* Strong experience with DevSecOps automation, everything as code including infrastructure
* Strong experience with modern cloud technology, preferably AWS
* Strong experience with enterprise application integration and frameworks
* Strong experience database design, standards, architecture & performance tuning
* Experience with relational and dimensional database modelling & NoSQL design
* Experience with visual modelling tools including UML
* Experience in full life cycle of complex software deployment projects
* Thoughtful practitioner of software engineering methodologies, frameworks and tools
* Strong experience with architecting and deploying cloud enabled solutions
* Experience with relational and dimensional database modelling
Important:
* Experience with agile project management
* Experience in strategic planning and execution
* Strong experience with AWS technologies
* Exposure to building web-enabled applications
* Experience building mobile applications
Desirable, but not required:
* Sufficient knowledge of Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
