ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT
Jeffco Public Schools' Certified Application Assistance Site (CAAS) operates through Jeffco Public Schools Community & Family Connections (CFC) program. CFC assists ANY individuals inquiring about Health First Colorado (Medicaid)/CHP and other health-related resources as well as Jeffco families living in transitional housing situations.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT
The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Administer Hearing/Vision screening assessment to students as trained by the department.
Complete documentation pertaining to appropriate test.
Entering Hearing/Vision data for the Clinic Aid after the day's screenings are complete.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: High School diploma or GED required.
EXPERIENCE: Experience working with children preferred.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES: Position requires interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work with students of all ages and staff. Must be able to operate an audiometer and a "Sloan" distance chart that is used for vision screening. Must be familiar with Campus and Outlook.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: Valid Colorado Driver's license and auto insurance at the time of hire.
SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
CONTACTS: Daily contact with persons at school site, the other screeners on your team, school clinic aid, school RN, parents, and others to resolve problems and negotiate controversial or confidential matters and with law enforcement personnel and the general public to furnish or obtain information.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
MENTAL FUNCTIONS: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to accurately and appropriately communicate verbally and in writing; make sound judgments; respond accurately and quickly to changing situations; and to evaluate, compile, coordinate, disseminate information, and use interpersonal skills. The employee is frequently required to compile incoming information and data, to assess possible solutions, compare and analyze. The employee is occasionally required to copy, coordinate, instruct, and evaluate.
JUDGMENT AND DECISION MAKING: Work is assigned by the Director of Health Services. This position requires application of Board, school, and state/federal policies, procedures, and/or laws to perform this job. Decision making requires collaboration with coworkers, administrative team, parents, and community agencies and members. Errors in decision making could result in termination. The supervisor is the Director of Health Services and is involved in the decision making process.
