SUMMARY:
The focus of this position is to support and promote effective instructional practices in Visual Arts. The Visual Arts Coordinator will work with teachers and administrators in a variety of settings to support educational practices that will ultimately increase student achievement.

Min-Mid Annual Salary Range: $43,274.00 - $60,868.50 Effective as of: 08-16-2021
**Annual salary noted above is based on an 8 hour day and full days worked calendar. Any position that is less than a full FTE/8 hours per day or late start will be prorated accordingly.
RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS:
The following qualifications and paperwork are required. Pre-screening will be based on meeting these requirements:
- A valid Colorado Teaching License. (Include a copy with application.)
- Your last performance evaluation. (Include a copy with application.)
- A minimum of five years of successful teaching experience. (As reflected in a resume.)
- Previous successful experience working with adult learners is preferred. (Documented in cover letter.)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a part of a team. (As reflected in a resume and/or cover letter.)
- CTE Arts & Design credential and/or knowledge around CTE.

The content of the letter should demonstrate your experience in working with teachers and align with the underlying beliefs of a professional learning community. Qualifications/Responsibilities
- Have a master’s degree (preferred, not required).
- Demonstrate ability to interpret data coming from a variety of sources, verbal and written communication skills, success in working with adult learners, dealing with ambiguity, and assisting others in adjusting to change.
- Demonstrate ability to use technology to effectively conduct the business of being a Visual Arts Coordinator.
- Have a broad understanding of the Colorado Academic Visual Arts Standards, grade level expectations, as well as the ability to collaborate with a variety of contents through the visual arts curriculum.
- Ensure the writing, revision, and implementation of the Jeffco Visual Arts curriculum, resources and proficiency scales.
- Have a clear understanding of the culture at each instructional level and the ability to effectively consult with visual arts teachers at all levels and maintain connection to classroom practices.
- Manage a balanced district budget for Visual Arts.
- Promote the continuous improvement of and advocate for resources to support the district Visual Arts program.
- Successfully implement all parts of the Jeffco Strategic Plan especially related to the Strategic Plan for the Arts.
- Work collaboratively with various groups of teacher leaders, other curriculum specialists, coordinators, directors, Jeffco departments, and other administrators to implement programs and practices that support the needs of district students.
- Provide district, area, and/or school professional development.
- Attend relevant conferences and meetings that support the successful operation of the district Visual Arts programs.
- Coordinate district Art shows by collaborating with the Jeffco Schools Foundation, setting budgets, tracking expenses, ordering and purchasing ribbons, facilitating purchases, communications, promotions, and providing other support as needed.
- Maintain the Visual Arts website.
- Serve as a contact point for community organizations and individuals.
- Support the induction program for Visual Arts teachers new to Jeffco Public Schools. This includes observation and feedback support for teachers.
- Participate in ongoing personal staff development experiences as a means of enhancing the instructional support provided to teachers – this will include participation in Cognitive CoachingSM .
- Complete a flexible work year, including select summer days.
- Have familiarity with current CTE trends, requirements and credentialing process in Visual Arts.
- Demonstrate willingness to assist the district CTE coordinator with Visual Arts-related issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
SPAN OF CONTROL: This position does not have any supervisory responsibility.
