Teaching Associate

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Teaching Associate will support the planning and teaching activities of Core Course faculty, under the supervision of the Core Course Coordinator.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Organize and produce support materials for the course (e.g. handouts, group exercises, examinations, assignments, etc.).
• Coordinate course evaluation strategies.
• Assist in classroom-guided discussions and other activities as directed by the course coordinator.
• Conduct library research on selected topics.
• Assist in grading student papers, projects and examinations using explicit criteria developed by course faculty.
• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

OTHER FUNCTIONS AND COMPETENCIES needed in addition to Essential Functions:

• Other administrative and project assignments appropriate to the course as assigned by the Course Coordinator

• EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree required. Master's degree preferred
• EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Prior experience preferred
• ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
• Candidate should be well organized and have a strong interest in traditional and non-traditional education. Candidate should also have strong interpersonal skills and experience in conducting literature searches. Canvas experience ideal.
