Description
PURPOSE: Provide business and financial support to the management team of the foundation through ownership of business processes to support the mission work in the community.
SALARY RANGE: $55,000 - $65,000
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide financial and accounting support to the Director of Finance
· Assist with monthly financial closing and analysis of accounts.
· Running financial statements and reviewing financial performance.
· Sharing financial information with various functional work groups.
· Assist with preparing schedules and workpapers related to annual budget and audit.
· Maintain tenant contract listing. Serve as point of contact for tenants. Prepare and maintain tenant rental budget.
· Primary Payroll, Time and Attendance, Onboarding and Recruiting process owner. (Using Paylocity System)
· Assist with job postings and onboarding for new hires through the payroll software.
· Review Paylocity system activities, communicate staff approval timelines, and process payrolls.
· Prepare daily bank deposits; enter deposits into accounting system for posting.
· Create accounts receivable invoices for all facility and tenant rentals as directed; enter payments into accounting system for posting; maintain client records in accounting system; follow up with clients on past due receivables.
· Enter approved accounts payable invoices in accounting system; prepare checks for payment as directed; maintain vendor records in accounting system.
· Prepare 1099’s annually.
· Prepare monthly local tax reporting (Admission taxes, Food & Beverage taxes, Virginia State Sales taxes)
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability to give and receive information by telephone and in person.
· Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with vendors, peers, supervisors, volunteers, and board/committee members.
· Ability to use computerized word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail with proficiency.
· Ability to use specialized accounting and development software with proficiency.
· Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality.
· Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Ability to use sound judgment in decision-making, and to work independently.
· Pleasant demeanor and polite attitude toward patrons and the public.
· Excellent organizational skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree with a major in Business or Accounting preferred.
· Minimum of two years work experience in finance and or accounting functions preferred.
· Knowledge of general business practices and basic accounting principles.
· Proficiency using Excel and Word
ADA QUALIFICATIONS:
· Ability to sit for prolonged times at workstation.
· Ability to lift and carry 20 pounds such as to move files to storage or store supplies.
· Ability to close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; and reading
· Ability to hear and use telephone system and dexterity to utilize features to direct calls to staff members.
· Ability to type and use desktop computer and software programs to perform job duties.
