Jefferson County Head Start is a federally funded preschool program serving low income families and children ages 3-5 that reside within Jefferson County.
Position for the 2022-2023 School Year
Primary responsibility is implementing high quality early childhood programming for children and their families as detailed in the Head Start program performance standards. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining a safe classroom environment. Teacher will assist in implementing positive guidance strategies to support the social and emotional development of children. Teacher will ensure healthy and safe practices for children. Teacher will engage families in the program to support child's development and parent's role as child's first and most important educator. They will also assist in planning and implementing parent meetings, special programs and training events. Teachers will follow all guidelines and procedures outlined in the "Licensing Rules for Group Day Care Centers". Teachers will work with an assistant teacher in a classroom of 15-18 children ages 3-5.
Required:
Associate or Bachelor's Degree in early childhood education or degree in related field with experience teaching preschool.
