Electrician

Position Summary

As a Residential Electrician for Jefferson Electric and Solar, your primary responsibility is to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential buildings. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and compliance of electrical systems within homes. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical principles, codes, and safety procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Installation and Maintenance:
   • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, lighting, and fixtures in residential properties.
   • Ensure the proper functioning of electrical systems, including outlets, switches, and circuit breakers.
   • Install and connect electrical appliances and equipment according to safety standards.
2. Inspection and Testing:
   • Conduct inspections to identify potential electrical hazards and code violations.
   • Perform electrical testing to ensure systems meet safety and performance standards.
   • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, implementing effective solutions.
3. Code Compliance:
   • Stay updated on local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
   • Ensure all installations and repairs comply with relevant electrical codes.
   • Document work and maintain accurate records to demonstrate compliance.
4. Customer Service:
   • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their electrical needs and concerns.
   • Provide estimates for electrical projects and explain the scope of work to customers.
   • Address client questions and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
5. Safety Procedures:
   • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
   • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a safe work environment.
   • Educate clients on electrical safety measures.
6. Team Collaboration:
   • Coordinate with other construction professionals, including contractors and builders, to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
   • Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
• Marion county Electrical License
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical fitness and ability to work in various environments and conditions.
• Valid Indiana Driver's License
• Pass Background Check
