Responsibilities
An Endoscopy Technician (Diagnostic) assists in standard Endoscopic procedures. They function as a technical expert assisting in the performance of standard diagnostic endoscopic procedures.
¿¿Education:¿ High School Diploma. Completion of the SGNA Associates Program Preferred
¿¿Experience:¿ At least two (2) years experience in Endoscopy setting preferred.
Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements: CPR Certification. SGNA Advanced Associates Program Certification Preferred
Conditions of Employment
Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson’s clinical entities or at the University. If you are not currently vaccinated you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from Jefferson.
Conditions of Employment
Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.

Responsibilities
An Endoscopy Technician (Diagnostic) assists in standard Endoscopic procedures. They function as a technical expert assisting in the performance of standard diagnostic endoscopic procedures.
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Provides assistance to the endoscopist with the understanding of patient’s anatomy and the procedure being performed.
- Assists endoscopist in the performance of standard diagnostic endoscopic procedures
- Assists with collection and preparation of specimens
- May assist with emergent procedures in the endoscopy suite, OR or ICU setting
- Responsible for set up, use, troubleshooting and maintenance of standard endoscopic equipment
- Responsible for quality assurance guidelines in the high-level disinfection reprocessing room
- Responsible for adhering to sanitary policies and procedures and infection control guidelines
