Dietary Cook Description:
Our dietary team is responsible for providing healthy meals to the children/youth placed at our programs. Additionally, we have an adult substance use recovery program. You will be responsible for preparing and serving meals and maintaining a clean kitchen. Guiding and teacher youth in our vocational program who help in the kitchen.
Shifts are available as full time and part time preparing and serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Pay is $16.50 - $19.72 per hour depending on experience.

Jefferson Hills is a trail blazer in providing intensive residential programs since 1993. In 2011, we started our hospital alternative and child/youth crisis stabilization units. Through evidence-based practices and a therapeutic approach, we have served over 12,000 Colorado youth, ages 5-18 ½ in our CSU programs. Our multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurses, licensed clinicians, certified teachers, milieu counselors, teacher’s aides, and administrative personnel work together to meet the needs of our youth through New Vistas CSU and our day treatment program (Jefferson Hills Academy).

Job Duties:
- Work as a team to provide a structured and safe environment for each child/youth placed at our program.
- Prepare, serve, and clean up for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Ensure each youth’s dietary needs are met when restrictions for them are required.
- Follow state and licensing requirements.
- Document sharps, food temperatures, equipment temperatures, cleaning tasks and more.
- Complete initial and on-going training.

Education/Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, with at least one year service experience
- Experience working in a treatment or correctional facility is a plus but not required
- Basic math knowledge
- Able to pass a drug test, including marijuana
- At least 21 years of age
