The Theory Center at Jefferson Lab (JLab) expects to have two theory postdoctoral fellow positions available for the fall of 2024, and invites applications for these positions. These positions are normally for two years, but outstanding performance in research may allow an extension to a third year.

The Theory Center at JLab has a very active and diverse research program in QCD and its applications in hadronic and nuclear physics, including while not limited to,

Studies of strong coupling QCD on the lattice computing the spectrum, decays, transition form factors and multidimensional structure of hadrons;
Applications of effective field theories to nuclear and hadronic properties;
Calculations of nuclear properties and their electroweak interactions;
Applications of scattering theory methods to the phenomenology of multi-hadron final states relevant for the spectroscopy program at JLab 12 GeV and worldwide;
Applications of QCD factorization to observables sensitive to single and multiple dimensional hadron structures and their extraction from experimental data and first-principals lattice computation using QCD global analyses;
Extensions of all such studies for a future Electron-Ion Collider; and
Machine learning / A.I. and quantum computing for nuclear physics.

There are established networking opportunities to interact and collaborate with researchers worldwide to bring global experience and expertise to bear on extracting definitive physics results from the experimental program at JLab and worldwide. Qualifications We Require:
A Ph.D. in theoretical nuclear or high energy physics
A strong publication record. Any of above research areas is preferred.
