As a Cryomodule Assembly Technician, you will uses various hand tools and equipment to assemble Cryomodules for the SRF Operations Group of the Accelerator Division.
We are looking to hire dedicated technicians.
In this role, you will:
Perform mechanical assembly of Cryomodules components in accordance with written procedures and verbal direction
Work from verbal, written and graphic instructions with moderate supervisor from lead technicians
Apply and adhere to proper UHV practices as applied to Cryomodule assemblies
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes to transport fragile equipment
Familiarity with machine operation such as mills and lathes
Use computers for accurate completion of electronic documentation
Support facilities as required for maintaining the Cryomodule production capabilities.
Maintain workspace in the Cryomodule production facilities to enable efficient productivity and promote a safe work environment
Will work shifts and overtime as required
Qualifications We Require:
Education and Experience:
Relevant AS degree or
High School Graduate with 2 years relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Demonstrated understanding of UHV systems and associated practices
Ability to use various hand tools for mechanical assemblies
Ability to perform mechanical assemblies in an production style atmosphere
Ability to use leak detection equipment and interpret results for leak checking in vacuum
Ability to operate an overhead bridge crane and other material handling equipment
Ability to interpret and apply work control documents
Able to work in collaboration with others to solve complex problems
Able to understand and carry out instructions, ask questions, and report to supervisor clearly on problems, progress and status in writing and orally
