Ticket Agent PT

Summary:

Jefferson Lines is looking for a team-focused individual with a customer-first mindset to join our company as part-time Ticket Agent at our Billings, MT bus depot. At Jefferson Lines, we are passionate about the customer experience. From booking tickets in our mobile app all the way to boarding and bus travel, our goal is to provide our passengers with their #1 Bus Experience. The Ticket Agent will help to prepare passengers for their journey with a “We Care” mentality, ensuring they feel comfortable and confident while traveling with Jefferson Lines.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Bring a “We Care” mentality that supports positive, empathetic, and professional care toward customers at all times
  • Assist passengers with travel needs regarding scheduling, ticket information/purchase, luggage requirements, rural transit options, and more in-person or by phone in a professional, friendly manner
  • Proactively and professionally problem solve customer satisfaction concerns or service issues that may arise
  • Assist passengers and drivers with luggage needs (including weighing, loading, unloading, etc.) when necessary
  • Support company needs during seasonal or unexpected passenger impacts to travel
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming facility for passengers and employees where they can
  • Understand, navigate, and educate on commonly used systems through best practice and industry standards
  • Complete and maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Work on additional initiatives as determined by the Depot Manager

 

Skills:

  • Pleasant and courteous customer service skills in all situations
  • Must possess strong written, verbal, and computer skills
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in escalated situations
  • Ability to quickly discern and problem solve while applying policy and procedure consistently and accurately
  • Ability to accurately count and handle cash or swipe credit card transactions
  • Fast learner with a strong work ethic and positive team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to work assigned tasks with limited supervision
  • General knowledge of geography

 

Education and/or experience:

  • High School Degree or Equivalent
  • 1-2 years experience in customer service
  • Must have valid driver’s license
