Interpreter-Full time- MossRehab-Einstein

• The staff interpreter serves as a liaison between staff and patients and their families by providing oral interpretation services when and where needed. Written translation will also be required on occasion
• The staff interpreter fosters accurate and complete communication among those involved in medical encounters in order to facilitate the provision or appropriate health care and support services
• The staff interpreter also provides staff education, as appropriate and as time permits, regarding the importance of and use of interpreters
• The staff interpreter may also be called upon to act as a culture broker, in order to assist staff and patients and their families in building bridges of understanding between different cultures and their inherent understandings of the issues at hand

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, College Diploma preferred
• At least one years' experience in providing bi-lingual assistance and/or interpretive services is required, preferably within the healthcare field
• Bridging the Gap certification or equivalent medical interpreter training is required
• May require travel within the work day to more than one of Einstein's facilities in the Philadelphia area.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to these locations with your own transportation is required.
• Must provide proof of passing the Language Line University Interpreter Skills Test or equivalent test

Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
