EXAMINATION IS ANNOUNCED TO ESTABLISH AN EMPLOYMENT LIST TO FILL ONE (1) CURRENT EAST JEFFERSON VACANCY IN THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS.
This employment list will also be used for future EAST
AND WEST Jefferson vacancies in various Departments as they occur.Under direction, the purpose of this position is to oversee various programs and projects funded by HOME, CDBG, OLHCHH, and other funding sources as needed. Employees in this classification perform professional and administrative work. Position is responsible for ensuring assigned area is achieving its objectives and performance standards. Employee serves the needs of citizens providing assistance to clients and potential clients. Responsible for ensuring work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures. Performs the more technical and complex tasks relative to the applicable
programs. Assist with monitoring of activities to ensure adherence to and compliance with contract specifications and stipulation. Performs related work as required. Position requires driving of a personal vehicle, thus possession of a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and personal automobile with minimum liability insurance available for business use (business travel is reimbursed on a mileage basis) will be given preference.Meets ONE of the following options:
I. Current employment with Jefferson Parish; plus, permanent civil service status at or above the level of Federal Programs Coordinator, Assistant in a position responsible for assisting with the coordination of federal grant programs.
OR
II. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; plus, significant (approx. one year), paid work experience assisting with the coordination of federal grant programs.
OR
III. Possession of an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university; plus, considerable (approx. three years), paid work experience assisting with the coordination of federal grant programs.
OR
IV. Successful completion of at least eighteen (18) credit hours of coursework from an accredited college or university*; plus, advanced (approx. four years), paid work experience assisting with the coordination of federal grant programs.

Substitution: A career/technical education program certificate from an accredited technical college in a field of study related to business or accounting may substitute for the required college coursework in Option IV.
Related education, experience, and/or professional certification(s) above and beyond the minimum qualifications will be required for consideration of an entrance salary above the minimum rate.(ENTRANCE AND PROMOTIONAL)
The examination may consist of a written test, a rating of training and experience, an oral panel interview or any combination thereof. Acceptable applicants will be notified of the time, date, and place of any assembled testing.
