EXAMINATION IS ANNOUNCED TO ESTABLISH AN EMPLOYMENT LIST TO FILL ONE (1) CURRENT EAST JEFFERSON VACANCY IN THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING AND FOR FUTURE VACANCIES AS THEY OCCUR.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Under direct supervision, the purpose of the position is to perform semi-skilled maintenance and repair on instrumentation and electrical components for telemetry systems. Employees in this classification Installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintenance of SCADA Pack, DirectLogic, Allen Bradley, Tesco, and other similar Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). Assist in the installation, calibration, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintenance of Flowline, Global Water, Endress Hauser, Milltronics, Met One, Precision Digital, and other sensors, transmitters, valves, and switches. Assist in the installation and maintenance of electrical wiring, network cabling, data cabling, conduit of various types, antennas, antenna cable, antenna masts, solar panels, lightning arrestors, power supplies of different voltages, uninterruptable power supplies, batteries, surge suppressors, voltage converters, wireless local area networks, and ethernet radio transceivers. Enters work orders into SCADA Division computer generated work order system in detail to maintain inventory, employee time record, and maintenance tracking. Performs related work as directed. This position is an essential, emergency duty status worker and may not be relieved of duty when the Parish President or their designee recommends a voluntary or mandatory evacuation of Jefferson Parish. Position requires driving of a Parish vehicle, thus possession of a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record will be given preference.NOTE: Employees will be required to obtain a Louisiana CDL Class B driver's license prior to the completion of their probationary periods.

Acceptable applicants will be notified of the time, date, and place of any assembled testing.
