Specialty Pharmacy Technician

Primary Function:

Assist pharmacist in the preparation and dispensing of highly complex specialty pharmacy medications to patients. This role uniquely differentiates from usual pharmacy technician duties as it includes advanced administrative skills and clinical complexities pertaining to specialty pharmacy medications.

This position requires providing service to the following age population(s) Neonate, Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric, and Frail Elderly in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.

High School graduate and computer proficiency required. Training in an accredited hospital pharmacy technician training program or equivalent combination of education

and experience or enrolled in an ACPE accredited pharmacy school program required.

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to identify and develop solutions by applying appropriate pharmacy standarrds and policies.

Pharm Tech Cert Required.
