The Assistant Underwriter will assist in the issuance of policies and documenting files in the policy operating system and support the underwriting team with correspondence, notes and documents.
- Support retail agents in gathering information/documents using tasks/reminders and Outlook.
- Inspection ordering, review and discrepancy/recommendation handling
- Processing cancellation and Reinstatement Notices
- Processing Pre-Audit Correspondence; Closed Even Audits and Premium Bearing Audits
- Claims reporting and confirmations
- Processing all endorsements
- Gradually learn the renewal quote process in development of underwriting skills for the future
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors Degree or Equivalent experience preferred. Risk management course completion preferred
- Insurance background and/or experience preferred
- Strong customer service skills (verbal and written) and computer skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Ability to work as part of a team and uphold high service standards
- Familiar with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
