Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Perform patient assessments and record medical histories
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software for dental restorations
- Work with pediatric patients to ensure their comfort and cooperation
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Dentrix for medical documentation
Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dental assisting program preferred
- X-ray certification required
- Previous experience working as a dental assistant is a plus
- Familiarity with CAD software for dental restorations is desirable
- Knowledge of pediatric dental procedures and techniques is beneficial
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, such as Dentrix, is advantageous
