Coal Handler
JMS Turning Point Division, is currently seeking Coal Handler .

Job Summary :
- Operate and maintain all coal handling equipment
- Washing down coal stations
- Checking out equipment
- Environment-coal fire generating facility, can be hot inside, humid, 90 degrees plus, or outside, heights, not to tall but can be.
Not underground facility.
Maintain 300,000 to a million tons of coal.
Fueling the plant.
Barge deliveries on river and unload and take in plant.
Limestone off river and deliver to plant as well.
Job Functions / Task :
- Preform cleaning work on the coal conveyor system, such as car dumpers, bunkers, runaway, tripper room, belt decks, stacker-reclaimer and tunnels.
- Load, unload and handle coal, materials, supplies and equipment : where required, couple and uncouple railroad cars : set and release brakes, operate rail switches : signal locomotive operator when to start, stop, go forward, or backwards : and flag traffic at crossing.
Haul and move materials, supplies and equipment : cleaning work of all kinds in, around, and on equipment, buildings, and yard, clean and remove light bulbs and similar unskilled manual task.
- Operate and preform maintenance on all coal yard related equipment.
- Clean and preform lubrication on all equipment including conveyors, pumps, large motors, and gearboxes and rolling stock.
- Secure, identify and transport coal samples, as directed.
- Inspect and test fire equipment, and properly document.
- Operate automotive equipment.
- Maintain equipment, tools and work areas in a clean and orderly conditions.
- Preform duties in accordance with Company safety rules, operating regulations and practices and reports unsafe conditions and practices.
- Report irregularities and abnormal conditions to the appropriate supervision.
- Clear and tag equipment in coal yard.
- Assist in training other employees.
- Assist employees as required.
- Operate equipment as required for cleaning purposes.
- Perform similar or less skilled work
Job Requirement :
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate degree in technical or scientific field preferred.
- Welding and electrical skills preferred.
- Successful completion of the Plant Operator Selection System (POSS) and the Plant Maintenance Selection System (MASS) test are required.
