Overview
Jensen Hughes is seeking an experience engineer with nuclear industry consulting and PRA experience in the South Central United states. Ideally, the candidate is located in the greater Houston area but there is flexibility for a qualified candidates in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, and/or Arkansas. Our team provides safety and reliability consulting to the commercial nuclear industry and serves customers located throughout North America. We perform specialty technical services in a wide variety of engineering projects, which range from day-to-day nuclear power plant operation to cutting edge research and development in all areas related to plant safety. As a consultant, a solid grasp of engineering fundamentals, ability to learn quickly, analytical mindset, attention to detail, and excellent oral and written presentation skills are key.
Responsibilities
Candidate will be perform technical support on longer-term model update projects as well as short-term emergent issues and risk applications.
Experience in (or willingness to support) new reactor technology desirable.
The PRA Engineer will join a dynamic team of nuclear consultants located nationwide.
Perform probabilistic risk assessments (PRA) and engineering analyses and develop technical documentation to support the safe operation of nuclear power plants.
Qualifications
B.S. degree in an Engineering discipline required; Mechanical, Nuclear, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years’ experience.
Prior experience in the power industry or with nuclear technology (e.g., U.S. Navy Nuclear Program) is a plus
Excellent communications and writing skills
Proficient in the use of EXCEL and/or ACCESS database tools to track/analyze data in support of various risk analysis tasks; MathCAD experience a plus
