Propane Service Technician- Ahoskie, North Carolina
Propane Service Technician Purpose:
A Propane Service Technician is responsible for safely providing service or repair work to any equipment, tanks, gas lines, or heating systems.
The Propane Service Technician is responsible for ultimately providing the highest level of customer service in all projects or tasks that are assigned to them.
A Propane Service Technician understands the importance of their job and understands the importance of providing the safest possible care to all customers.
Propane Service Technician Responsibilities:
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining propane appliances; and providing service to our residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
- Render prompt service on mechanical equipment including after-hours service calls when on-call.
- Install and pressure test gas service lines to make sure the system passes all state & local installation/permit requirements.
- Examine regulators, gas lines, and appliance connections for possible defects or gas leaks.
- Maintain adequate parts inventory in the warehouse and on the company provided work vehicle.
- Makes minor repairs and maintains service truck and maintenance record.
- Handle maintenance on other service agency equipment.
- See that all in-warranty parts are returned to supplier along with proper information for location to receive proper credit.
- Prepare Job Order forms on all service work done.
- Maintain a file on each item of mechanical equipment sold, including follow-up report, guarantee and warranty cards, and records of service.
- Attend meetings and schools as required.
- Adheres to policies and procedures.
- Perform all other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
District Manager Required Qualifications:
- High School Graduate
- 21 Years of Age or Older
- Able to pass background check, DOT physical, and drug test.
- Must exhibit mechanical aptitude.
- Licensed Class B CDL-DOT Medical card w/ HAZMAT & Tanker endorsement and be insurable.
- Physical strength to walk, stand, bend, climb, reach, twist, and to lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
- Oral communication skills to communicate with customers and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.
- Highly responsible
- Ability to work well with other departments.
