The Materials Manager is a member of our Operations team and will work closely with various departments/personnel to ensure delivery of customer expectations. This includes implementing effective production schedules through analysis of material inventories, production progress, capacities and customer orders. This is a highly collaborative position requiring strong organizational, follow up and communication skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring Production is supplied with all materials necessary to execute the master production schedule.
Coordinate with purchasing to ensure economic order quantities are placed to support the production schedule.
Lead, direct the work of plant department leads and buyer/planner, to support successful execution of forecast/plan.
Create and close work orders in MRP system as required to meet established plan.
Expedite materials as required with detail and a high sense of urgency
Resolve all inventory related discrepancies and develop corrective actions to prevent future errors.
Communicate with company personnel in a timely, clear, efficient, and appropriate method regarding all aspects of material supply, production schedules, and lead times.
Support financial cost containment through minimizing inventory loss, root-cause analyses, turnover rates and space requirements.
Ensure departmental adherence to company standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of plant work areas, standardizing processes, etc.)
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or 5 years proven experience in manufacturing related role.
Will consider 2 years of experience in purchasing and/or inventory control in a manufacturing environment or any combination of experience, education and training which would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required.
Comprehensive knowledge of purchasing, receiving, warehousing, material handling, shipping, and inventory control concepts and principles.

Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a Team environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Computer literate with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Problem Solving Skills, Attention to Detail and Highly Organized
Broad experience with ERP systems/software and manufacturing processes
Ability to prioritize in a consistently changing production environment

Pay: $57,000.00 - $67,500.00 per year
