Jesse's Garage is currently seeking an Accountant who is ready to take on the responsibility of overseeing our accounting and clerical department within our successful company.

Jesse's Garage is growing as the area's most trusted and most convenient auto repair organization! We are expanding into new locations in order to provide more convenience to more people in our area. We have a European specialty store as well as (2x) stores that maintain and repair all makes and models, including fleets. We serve as the area's premier service, offering free Uber rides to and from the shop, the area's largest fleet of loaner vehicles, the area's longest warranty, convenient online scheduling with the nearest appointments, and certified technicians to take care of our clients' cars. We are on a mission to continue growing, which means adding support to our operation.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to oversee our financial transactions, ensure accuracy in our financial records, and provide strategic insights to support our company's growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment. The Accountant will report to the COO and the owner.

Some of the duties of the Accountant will include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements on a per-location and consolidated basis in accordance, in compliance with GAAP.
  • Update and deliver a Daily Financial Overview Report.
  • Coordinate and lead the reconciliation process for bank statements, balance sheet, chart of accounts, etc. in order to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare journal entries daily.
  • Manage payable and receivable accounts.
  • Prepare End-Of-Year 1099 documents
  • Prepare consolidated tax returns for the entire company
  • Work with managers to correctly calculate and submit payroll and bonuses.
  • Review balances on a weekly basis to manage cash flow and project cash needs.
  • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits
  • Assist in forecasting revenue, profit, and budget to guide the company's financial planning.
  • Assist in developing and implementing financial procedures to improve efficiency, internal control, loss prevention, etc.
  • Seek opportunities to streamline our operation
  • Introduce tax-effective strategies that align with the short and long-term goals of the company.
  • Collaborate with various team members to support the company's financial initiatives and long-term goals.
  • Provide guidance on cost management and profitability enhancement.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, changes in accounting regulations, and best practices to ensure the company's financial operations remain compliant and competitive.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies as required, ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements
  • Adjust any other discrepancies in expenses, bank balances, credit cards, etc.
  • Takes action on items above and beyond the formal job responsibilities.

Our candidate must have the following requirements:

  • Minimum (3x) years of accounting experience is required
  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, CPA and Master's Degrees are preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and experience in financial management
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively with people of various backgrounds
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet applications and MS Excel
  • Experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting
  • Strong attention to detail with accuracy in data entry and record keeping
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to balance multiple projects with multiple deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team and follow direction

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
