Position Summary
The Material Planner Interiors, reports to the Supervisor of Materials Planning. The position is responsible for determining the aircraft parts planning and material stocking strategy in support of aircraft and cabin maintenance, appearance initiatives, customer convenience items, and Maintenance Defect and Deferral Report (MDDR) support specifically related to JetBlue aircraft cabins and other required aircraft material. The Planner also works closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Interiors Engineering and JetBlue business partners to determine inventory positioning throughout the system in order to optimize support and maximize operational performance.
Essential Responsibilities
Compile statistical planning models to forecast the demand and investment required to meet operational requirements with a specific focus on cabin/aircraft appearance, customer convenience, and other related aircraft interior items
Collaboration with Engineering, Configuration Control, and Purchasing to set up part numbers in JetBlue’s Maintenance and Engineering system and in accordance with General Maintenance Manual (GMM) requirements
Review of fleet Recommended Spare Parts List (RSPL) data along with historical system demand to assist in recommendations for future system requirements or the launch of new platform or service type
Report regularly to Manager (direct report) regarding opportunities and future initiatives for Technical Procurement Team
Acquires business knowledge in depth as well as gathers and analyzes complex information about all components in the process, using a variety of sources
Works with Business Customers to develop technological solutions
Identify customer impacting items and urgent parts requirements by reviewing Out of Service (OOS) logs, delay reports, and fleet manuals daily to avoid future materiel delays
Make scrap replacement decisions by evaluating ownership, cost, usage, and any repair information available to support and optimize inventory levels
Work with Maintenance Planning on forecasting any related scheduled or program/initiative related part removals/replacements and ensuring proper system requirements are made proactively in support of cabin maintenance
Assist with system material recommendations for aircraft and engine maintenance as required
Works with Technical Procurement, Programs, Sourcing, and Engineering teams to research, qualify, and approve new aircraft interior or product offerings from a parts availability and execution perspective

Minimum Experience and Qualifications
High School Diploma or General Education Development Diploma (GED)
Two (2) years’ experience in an inventory management or an aircraft maintenance environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage project communications and stakeholder expectations
Must be able to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance
Able to work independently and in a team environment
Depending upon location, may need to possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record that meets JetBlue Airways’ insurance standards
Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
Must pass a pre-employment drug test
Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics or related field
Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
Acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
Inventory Optimization and Planning system(s) experience
Data analytics and dash boarding for operational metrics
Crewmember Expectations:
Regular attendance and punctuality
Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice
Able to maintain a professional appearance
When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Compensation:
The base pay range for this position is between $58,500.00 and $89,600.00. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
