What are the responsibilities and job description for the GSE Technician position at JETSTAR AVIATION?
The individuals must meet all qualifications and be fully capable of performing the following work:
- Diagnose malfunctions and repair Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
- Advise and train lower grade workers on diagnosis and repair of less complex repair/maintenance problems.
- Inspect and approve completed maintenance actions, solve repair problems by studying drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics, and technical publications.
- Maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions, and analyze, diagnose, and repair GSE using conventional and digital test equipment.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE.
- Inspect, test, and operate GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation in accordance with technical publications.
- Disassemble and assemble malfunctioning GSE accessories and components; remove, disassemble, repair, clean, treat for corrosion, assemble, and reinstall GSE components and accessories; stencil and mark GSE in accordance with technical publications.
- Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations.
- Follow waste and environmental compliance policies and procedures
- Practice good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety at all times.
- Document maintenance and adhere to established regulatory requirements.
- Comply with work order timekeeping system procedures.
- Maintain high state of cleanliness and utilize a clean-as-you-go process when executing maintenance duties.
- Maintain situational awareness, stay cognitive-focused, and mitigate risks.
- Comply with processes and procedures as per documents and publications.
- Immediately report missing, lost, found, or unattended tools to the supervisor. Maintain and control tools. Inventory and inspect tools on a regular basis to identify when to replace worn or broken tools and report the need for replacement tools to the supervisor.
- Clean work area as necessary, assuring all hazardous materials are properly stored; Handle hazardous materials, expired materials, and wastes in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
- Comply with safety rules and procedures and perform work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work area. Promptly report accidents, injuries, safety, violations, and/or unsafe practices or procedures to supervisor.
- Perform weekly break room and smoking area cleaning duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
