Great opportunity for Digital Press Operators! Jettison is representing a company that is looking to immediately hire an experienced and qualified Digital Press Operator for their Monroe location. Experience operating a digital press is a plus, but candidates interested in learning a skilled trade in the print industry are encouraged to apply. Experience in graphic design, prepress, finishing and/or digital printing is a big plus!
Overview
The Digital Press Operator produces high quality printing jobs to meet company and customer expectations, in a cost-effective manner while meeting strict deadlines.
Shift Availability: 2nd shift 3:15pm - 11:45pm M-F
Responsibilities:
- Excellent eye for detail
- Highly motivated with a positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task, with minimal supervision
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Communicate effectively with manufacturing personnel
- Have basic knowledge of computers (knowledge of PSI is a plus)
- Keep accurate and complete daily records for data collection
- Meet company and departmental standards, including: Customer Requirements, Compliance, Safety, Quality, etc.
- Follow company ISO Quality Procedures and Work Instructions, and complete forms and checklists as necessary
- Follow company policies outlined in the company handbook
- Able to work overtime and weekends, as business needs dictate
- Perform other duties as required
- Attend department and company meetings
- Assist in training new and temporary employees
Qualifications:
No experience necessary, but if you have any of the following, it would be a plus: •
- Setting up, running, and troubleshooting Kodak Nexpress and/or any Digital press
- Working knowledge of GRACoL G7 standards
- Familiarity with PDF workflows, File Management systems and Digital Front-End systems
- Company is willing to invest in an individual to join their team on second shift. Training would be on first shift for at least 3 months or until we feel confident of your skills to run the press.
Skills & Competencies:
- Follow team leader instructions for POD processes
- Able to work in Mac and PC platforms
- Perform calibrations, regular and preventative maintenance on digital presses for optimum quality output
- Be able to work at a high production rate in a fast-paced environment
- Organize and maintain inventory levels
- Able to document detailed instructions regarding jobs to provide seamless transitions between shifts
- Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to push/pull loaded pallet jacks and/or rolling carts
- Finishing background is a plus
