The Case Manager is responsible for providing support services for refugee participants, developing career plans, and providing guidance to participants through the job placement process. Reports to Director of Refugee Assistance Program.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assists JEVS Employment Counselors with identifying potential barriers to employment.
- Assist participants in reaching their goals identified in a Family Self -Sufficiency Plan by providing the services clients and their families need by RSS or by providing a referral to a provider that can provide needed services and make sure a follow up check- in is conducted within 30 days of making the referral.
- Assists participants in reaching their goals in the ELT program by providing retention services, stressing good attendance, punctuality, and promotion of a positive work ethic.
- Assists participants in reaching their goals to become self-sufficient.
- Provides regular, ongoing individual counseling to address barriers, encourage achievement of goals and ensure retention of participants.
- Orients the participants to various agencies and personnel for specialized counseling and treatment.
- Orients participants to the program through individual and group sessions.
- Maintains counseling notes regarding participants’ progress and prepares statistical reports as required by the program.
- Assists in coordination of services with County Assistance Offices and other services.
- Conducts group activities on life skills and employability.
