AI Applications Engineer

SUMMARY

The AI Applications Engineer will report to the Data Science Manager and will design, implement, and maintain AI solutions and workflows that integrate effectively with existing systems and platforms. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in software engineering and API development, combined with practical knowledge of artificial intelligence applications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design AI solutions that address specific business needs, seamlessly integrate with existing systems, and embody the highest standards of information security and ethical AI principles, ensuring transparency, fairness, and data protection. 
• Implement AI technologies by developing, testing, and deploying software and workflows.
• Maintain and troubleshoot AI systems to ensure continual performance and integration integrity.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including software developers, data scientists, and business analysts to ensure smooth integration workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify requirements and tailor AI workflows accordingly.
• Lead the technical aspects of AI projects from conception through to successful implementation.
• Research and evaluate new AI technologies and recommend enhancements to current systems and processes.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on AI solutions to team members and stakeholders.
• Document AI architectures, systems, and procedures to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in AI and software engineering to drive innovation.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer sessions to internal teams for effective use and maintenance of integrated AI solutions.
• Communicate technical details and integration progress to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in software development, API design, and system integrations.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python.
• Familiarity with AI technologies, machine learning models, and data processing.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud).
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Understanding of security best practices in system integrations.
• Previous experience in insurance or working on projects involving natural language processing (NLP) or computer vision is a plus.
