SUMMARY
This role serves as the liaison between the business and the data team (BI developers and Data Engineers), improving the quality of data/reporting services and analyzing business needs. The Data Analyst is responsible for enhancing the quality of data products and services, analyzing data to inform business decisions and finding data and reporting solutions to meet business needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Review and interpret raw business requirements to understand key outcomes expected by business and define success criteria accordingly
- Responsible for translating business needs to data/BI solutions, and vice versa, with current programs, projects and initiatives in mind
- Manage UAT and BAT with the business to ensure delivered product meets their expectations
- Data profiling to understand the data and its quality
- Model relationships between fields in different datasets
- Help business develop data definitions
- Assume responsibility for project tasks and ensure they are completed in a timely fashion
- Write the SQL to deliver the data needed to data engineers and BI developers to develop and deliver data products, dashboards and reports
- Compile and distribute reports on data pipeline and dashboard development and distribute as necessary
- Design and execute testing procedures to extract and validate data from test runs
- Consult with the business and the data team dashboard mock-ups and gather regular feedback from business on data quality and visualization
- Work with data scientists on providing requirements to data team
- Comprehensive documentation for requirements and process

QUALIFICATIONS
- BS degree or higher in science or technology
- 2- 4 years of related experience
- 2 years of experience in writing complex SQL
- 2 years of big data and cloud technology experience (GCP or AZURE)
- 2 years of Microsoft Power BI experience (or similar visualizations tools)
- 2 years of programming background Python and R
- Technical proficiency with SQL and BI experience is required
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Have a demonstrated passion for data and working in data-driven organizations
- Data visualization experience
- Experience running queries against raw unstructured data
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI visualization
- Experience with cloud database technologies (Snowflake, Big Query, Redshift, etc.)
- Ability to interact effectively at varying levels of business and technical organization
- Experience with Agile methodology
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills
