This critical role arranges Jewett-Cameron’s daily outbound LTL and FTL shipments via Brokers, rail, and common carriers. The Shipping Specialist reviews routing guides, bills of lading, orders, customer quote requests, and other records to determine shipping methods required to meet shipping and delivery schedules.

Responsibilities in this Role
- Confirm details on pick demand per customer routing guide, commodity, and quantity being shipped.
- Create bills of lading using standard procedures to ensure the accuracy of the receipt of goods.
- Route shipments and arrange for carrier pickups.
- Ensure effective communication between external and internal stakeholders to achieve the best cost-efficient results for the company and the customer.
- Troubleshoot logistics issues to ensure on-time delivery of goods to customers.
- Process orders, ensure accuracy, report shortages, and follow up to locate items or incomplete orders.
- Schedules inbound and outbound shipments for internal and external customers based on needs.
Ideal Candidate Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Shipping role
- Demonstrated ability as a problem solver
- Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to navigate a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel
- Knowledge of shipping platforms highly desired
