What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Hygienist position at Jewish Home of Rochester?
Pay Rate: $40.00 per Hour (Pay information will vary depending upon relevant experience for the position)
4-5 hours per week - Thursday mornings - 8:30am start time
GENERAL SCOPE: To perform oral prophylaxis and to provide instruction in oral health care.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION: Graduation from approved Dental Hygiene Program with current license.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Obtain medical records and check health histories prior to performing exams and prophylaxis for any conditions requiring pre-medications and verify that medication has been administered.
- Perform prophylaxis and expose radiographs according to the patient's ability to tolerate procedures. Clean and ID dentures.
- Document procedures performed and any pertinent information in the patient's medical record and in the dental office record.
- Prepare autoclave-monitoring ampules for autoclave testing.
- Prepares basic prophylaxis set-ups.
- All other job duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five years of dental hygiene experience. Geriatric experience preferred.
