What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry Technician position at Jewish Senior Life?
Pay Rate: $15.60
Full Time 40 hours 7am-3:30pm Monday-Friday, every other weekend
GENERAL SCOPE: Assists in the operation of the Laundry Department and assures the cleanliness of the resident’s personal clothing and the facility’s linen system. Works under the direction of the Laundry Team Leader, Environmental Services Team Leader and the Environmental Services Supervisor.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION: Ability to read and write English. Must have basic math skills and be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensures all clean linen carts are stocked to par levels.
- Makes all clean linen deliveries to the Nursing units (10) daily.
- Documents all deliveries to Nursing units.
- Delivers clean linens to other departments, Medical, Rehabilitation Services, Outpatient Rehab Clinic, Beauty Shop and Adult Day Services.
- Empties soiled linens from laundry chute, loads carts and transports same to loading dock for pick-up.
- Unloads clean linen deliveries and stocks clean linen shelves.
- All other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE: General knowledge of Laundry techniques, equipment and chemical supplies
