Job Posting for Recreation Therapy Specialist at Jewish Senior Life
Pay Rate: $25.00 Hourly
Per Diem - Days (Monday- Friday)
GENERAL SCOPE: Providing therapeutic engagement to residents of all ability levels
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION: B.S. Degree in Recreation Therapy or related field with experience working with the geriatric population is desired.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Implement recreation programs that meet the needs of the residents being served
- Assist with recreation therapy assessments, MDS required documentation, progress notes, and attendance record keeping as needed
- Assist in the development and distribution of therapeutic engagement calendars.
- Transport residents to and from recreation programs.
- All other job duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE: One year work experience in Recreation in a geriatric setting two semesters of college fieldwork in a geriatric setting would be acceptable in lieu of the one year experience.
