THE ROLE:

JewishColumbus is the only organization in Columbus focused on and capable to meet the diverse needs of our entire Jewish community. Our community is growing and changing and how we invest in the community must also evolve. The Community Investment Specialist will work with the Senior Director of Community Investment & Planning to help reassess, redesign, and implement JewishColumbus’s updated investment process. This new process will provide the greatest impact, meet community needs, and reflect JewishColumbus priorities within the scope of available resources. The Specialist oversees administration of all funding to Jewish organizations in Columbus, Israel and around the world, as well as individual funding for Jewish Overnight Camp & Israel Experiences. Lastly, the Specialist oversees all administration related to Community Impact committee(s).

REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Community Investment & Planning

RESPONSIBILITIES:

COMMUNITY INVESTMENT

• Help implement updated investment strategy & process
• Develop user-friendly tools and training to guide partner agencies through new funding process.
• Draft, oversee, and track all funding letters throughout the year
• Coordinate all funding requests with the finance department
• Ensure impact information from organizations is received and properly assessed and analyzed
• Oversee Jewish Overnight Camp & Israel Experiences application and funding process
• Manage all committee administration
• Work with a diverse group of community volunteers and partner agencies
• Develop strong relationships with partner agency staff
• Develop and maintain consistent interactions and learning opportunities between the committee and partner agencies

MEMBER OF IMPACT TEAM:

• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and culture
• Contribute to and /or manage other projects that support the success of the Community Impact Team and JewishColumbus.
• Educate the community about the work of JewishColumbus and Community Impact team.
• Engage in relevant professional development training and networking opportunities.
• Develop and utilize CRC, Foundations Clouds, Excel and other relevant technology and data analytic tools to accurately manage, share and strategically analyze information.
• Serve as a liaison between specific community agencies and the Community Impact Team.
• Attend JewishColumbus and Partner Agency events when appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years experience in related field
• Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, effective multi-tasker and ability to meet deadlines
• Strategic and proactive
• Excellent oral and written communicator
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong understanding of the social, economic, and political landscape of Columbus, OH and its Jewish community is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse interests and communities; donor and community focused
• Promotes the JewishColumbus brand, promoting its relevance and statute to the greatest extent possible
• Exhibits customer service focused behavior
• Capable of building trust and working in partnership to achieve results
