What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outreach Specialist position at JFS Middlesex?
The Senior Medicare Patrol of New Jersey (SMP) program, under the auspices of JFS of Middlesex County, is seeking a full-time Outreach Specialist fluent in English and Spanish. The Outreach Specialist will provide community presentations throughout the state of NJ. The SMP program assists seniors to prevent, detect and report Medicare fraud, waste, and abuse. The Outreach Specialist will (i) plan and implement appropriate outreach strategies including media and social networking; (ii) actively seek out and schedule community education events, group education sessions, health fairs, and senior expos, including outreach aimed at minority populations; (iii) travel to and participate in SMP community education events, group education sessions, health fairs, and senior expos. Some nights and weekends may be required. Use of a personal automobile is required. Necessary and business-related travel will be reimbursed in accordance with JFS policies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, excellent oral and written communication skills and some experience giving presentations/public speaking. Training will be provided. The Outreach Specialist should have the desire to assist seniors with Medicare fraud, waste and abuse. Benefits package includes medical, vacation, personal, sick time, retirement plan.
