Licensed motor vehicle inspector needed to provide excellent customer service through oil changes, maintenance services as well as offering brake, tire, tune ups and other light mechanical repairs for our customers.
Hourly pay plus potential bonus per inspection!
Responsibilities:
- Inspect automotive vehicles to ensure compliance to emission standards and governmental regulations
- Check for damaged, broken headlights, leaks, and faulty blinkers
- Test vehicle for wear-and-tear damage
- Inspect and assess the condition of all the vehicle's essential mechanical systems and components as well as check accessories, air lines and electrical circuits
- Check for improper adjustments or alignments
- Responsible to communicate whether vehicle passed or failed the inspection and next steps required
- Advise service consultant/technicians for additional work and suggest improvements to vehicle that fails inspection
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of vehicles inspected
- Check for any illegal equipment installed on vehicle
- Check preventive maintenance programs
- Perform multi-point inspection
- Change oil, inspect fluid levels of power steering reservoir and transmission
- Inspect belts, hoses and wiper blades
- Check air pressure of all tires
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area
- Inspections should be done timely and in a professional and efficient manner
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid license as a State Vehicle Inspector (varies by state)
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Able to read and write and comprehend information
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively
- Demonstrates ability to work as a team player
- Be able to work in a fast paced environment while multi-tasking to achieve desired outcome
- Be able to lift over 50 pounds
- Be able to bend, stoop, reach and crawl
- Can stand for extended period of times and climb stairs
