Job Description for Lower Bay Technicians

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

General duties that include but are not limited to:

1. Complete all required computer-based training and other on the job training within the required timeframe.
2. Report for shift on time and dressed in proper uniform to include required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), slip resistant shoes and good hygiene.
3. Maintain clean and safe work environment including using all safety equipment and following all safety procedures.
4. Greet all guests within 5 feet, in a professional, pleasant manner.
5. Attend store meetings, including monthly safety meetings.

Lower Bay duties that include but are not limited to:

1. Complete under vehicle inspection.
2. Remove oil drain plug, loosen and remove oil filter, wipe mounting plate and check filter spindle.
3. Install new oil drain plug and new oil filter.
4. Wipe fittings and lubricate.
5. Check and fill gearboxes.
6. Report under vehicle status to upper bay.
7. Observe under carriage of vehicle once started to ensure no leaks.
8. Perform lower bay quality inspection.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

1. Must be able to stand on concrete or metal surfaces for extended periods of time (typically no longer than 8 hours.)
2. Work in an environment that frequently experiences extreme hot and cold temperatures, loud noises, and exhaust fumes.
3. Lift and move inventory items, trashcans and other work related items (up to 50 pounds).
4. Must be able to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time (typically no longer than 8 hours.
5. Must be able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp and hold tools and other items with hands, for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the shift.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour

Supplemental Pay:

Experience:

1. Automotive repair: 1 year (Preferred)
2. Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
