Overview

The Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Operations is a member of the Technology Services team.  This team defines, implements and operates all technology infrastructure deployed at J.Jill, which includes the  servers, infrastructure services monitoring, storage, cloud services and enterprise Network Infrastructure. This position will report directly to the Manager, Infrastructure Operations and will primarily be responsible for the daily Infrastructure operations and security of J.Jill’s core datacenter, server, and network infrastructure. This role is responsible for assessing systems, determining problems, providing solutions to issues that arise, designing systems, upgrading systems, maintaining systems, and brainstorming possible improvements that can be made to an infrastructure system in the future. This role requires working on an on-demand basis outside business hours and holidays for critical production support of the infrastructure environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
• Manage and monitor all installed systems and hybrid cloud infrastructure consists of Corporate and Distribution Center (DC) Technology environment.
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
• Performs the day-to-day administration of server, storage, backups, hypervisor, Operating System, and network infrastructure.

• Provides Technical support to the team.
• Understand and creates SOPs and procedural documentation around the implementation, configuration, support, security, and management of Corporate and DC Technology Operations.
• Investigation and resolution of routine incidents and service requests and as called for assist in the investigation and resolution of major incidents.
• Assists with Technology projects/initiatives. 
• Control and maintain the Patch management program of Enterprise infrastructure environment and stay compliant.
• Ensures Technology operations are compliant with SOX/ PCI and other regulations where appropriate and adheres to all security best practices.
• Oversees the escalation to third level support for problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution of issues not able to be resolved at L1 and/or L2.
• Maintains knowledge of business directions and technical strategies.
• Maintains the monthly patching of the infrastructure environment and meets the security compliance requirements.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Primary Knowledge and capability in relevant tools and technologies.
•  Experience with Windows & VMware
•  Working knowledge on Enterprise Storage & backup solutions
•  Familiar with network Local Area Network (LAN) operations
• Secondary Knowledge and capability in relevant tools and technologies.
•  Knowledge of AWS and MS Azure is a plus.
•  Familiarity with Linux is a plus.

• Must be available for on-call support coverage for infrastructure Operations team.
• This position requires flexibility and on-demand response to priority issues outside of normal business hours. 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• 4-6 years of experience supporting an Infrastructure organization.
• 3-4 years of experience in servers/administration/mid-range systems
• A.S. in Computer Systems or Management Information Systems, or related area or equivalent job experience.
