JOB SUMMARY
The controller will be responsible for closing out the month, maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial data, preparing financial reports, and providing financial guidance to management. A qualified candidate will need to have an interactive management style and able to work efficiently with direct reports and management alike, have the ability to see the big picture and actively identify cost-saving measures as well as profit opportunities. JIT Toyota-Lift operates currently with Microsoft Navision and is converting to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central in April 2024.
The successful candidate will be a true business partner to the President and a great leader to their accounting staff by communicating, delegating, training, and ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed in an efficient manner.
JOB DUTIES

  • Responsible for four direct reports located in two branches.
  • Travel to Frewsburg, NY 14738  2-3 times a month after the first few weeks of training. 
  • Review standard costs in the ERP System and explain variances on a monthly basis.
  • Participate in improving business processes.
  • Develop, using data, operational and analytical tools.
  • Create reports and submit recommendations based on requests or one-off projects.
  • Maximize the available working capital of its units.
  • In collaboration with directors and service managers, analyze performance gaps and prepare recommendations.
  • Participate in establishing the capital expenditure budget and monitor costs, assumptions, returns on investments and internal rates of return. 
  • Support directors and managers in the analysis and improvement of operations.
  • Develop and analyze operational and financial performance indicators to contribute to decision-making.
  • Participate in improving the accuracy of inventories. 
  • Ensure the correct allocation of expenses between business units.
  • Develop performance reports for senior management containing key performance indicators. 
  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls to ensure audit readiness 
  • Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; and analyzing variances
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data. 
  • Maximize financial return by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. 
  • Ensure operational efficiency by scheduling and assigning employees and assessing results 
  • Management all accounting and finance staff and provide leadership, guidance, and training 
 
 
JOB SKILLS
 
  • Ability to create financial statements
  • Ability to be an accounting software super user
  • Ability to carry out month-end and year-end closing process
EXPERIENCE
  • Proven working experience as a Financial Controller
  • 5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • Managerial accounting experience
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
EDUCATION
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
CERTIFICATIONS/ LICENSES
  • CPA or CMA preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Although the majority of time will be spent in a clean, quite office, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles while performing the duties of this job.
