**Artisan Painter

1st shift - core hours Mon-Thur 5am-3pm

**OVERVIEW

**

We are seeking a skilled Artisan Painter to join our team at Jerr-Dan Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for applying paint and coatings to our JLG products using various paint application devices. This includes working with government and military spec paint.

**ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

**

• Utilize power spray equipment and brushes to prime, paint, and touch up vehicles.
• Ensure specifications are met by masking, unmasking, or adjusting masking as necessary.
• Prepare parts by sanding, washing, and conditioning, and perform light bodywork if needed.
• Maintain painting equipment by disassembling, cleaning, repairing, adjusting, and reassembling.
• Prepare for color changeovers by flushing tanks, hoses, and guns.
• Mix paints accurately and adjust chemicals as necessary.
• Apply decals, stencils, and rust-proofing as required.
• Maintain a clean work area and perform preventative maintenance tasks as needed.
• Inspect products throughout the painting process to ensure they meet specifications.
• Assist in the transportation and movement of parts and assemblies during and after the painting process.
• Complete any other assigned duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS

**

• Minimum of 6 months of painting experience in automotive or heavy vehicle/equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, or automotive body shop.
• Strong mathematical skills and basic mechanical aptitude.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

**

• Ability to work independently with minimal direction and troubleshoot as needed.
• 1 year or more of painting experience in automotive or heavy vehicle/equipment in manufacturing, industrial, or automotive body shop.

**PHYSICAL AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

**

• Safety glasses and safety shoes are mandatory at all times.
• Respirator required during painting and some paint prep activities.
• Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds.

**TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

**

• On-the-job training will be provided.

• Working in a Manufacturing Environment

Salary info:

$21 - $24 / hr
