THE ROLE
The Senior Project Engineer - Design is a critical member of a New Product Development team that is focused on designing innovative Aerial Work Platform products. This includes all phases of product development from concept creation through production launch. This role will have primary technical responsibility for a major subsystem in the aerial work platform, including concept creation/selection, finalized design, cost analysis, prototype and testing support.

You will participate in the budgeting process to include recommending capital improvements and preparing justification data as required

This position researches, studies, and proposes use of new technologies to be used in the development of new and improved products

You will maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues

This role will help enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures

You will evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability

This riole directs preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material
-
You will create and maintain project documentation for project planning, requirements analysis, risk management, issues management, status reporting, project communication, quality assurance, research and historical records

You will perform engineering analysis to support to the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements

This position will provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, and production support

Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication
-
Provide guidance to team members to ensure the appropriate engineering analysis is performed and documented
-
You will get to provide leadership to a technical staff to ensure program success. Assure designs meet customer requirements, statutory requirements, and corporate objectives

This role will prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations
WHAT YOU NEED

Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering and 8 years of relative experience
-
The ability to obtain a secret security clearance

Experience with a high level cad system

PMP certification

Possess a strong mechanical knowledge of vehicles and related systems

Strong verbal and written communication skills
