The HVAC Chief Engineer role is responsible for managing maintenance and repairs for the buildings and their systems at a critical crop/entomology research corporate campus in Waterman, Illinois. We are looking for a role model with uncompromising standards who works as a collaborative team player, communicatesprofessionally and demonstrates accountability. This position needs to be passionate expert that embodies the JLL Human Experience culture of being an early adopter and turning problems into opportunities while having the flexibility to think outside of the box.

What this job involves
Work alongside the client's staff to ensure the buildings and their associated systems are operated and maintained in good repair.
Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time and resources.
Follow all safety protocols including Lock out Tag out, Job Safety Assessments, Shutdown Notifications, etc.
Ensure compliance to Occupational Health and Safety policies, regulations, legislation and cultivate a workplace where health and safety is a priority for client, team members and contractors focusing on a "goal zero injuries"strategy.
Assist in managing the operations audit process as directed by the respective Regional Engineer/National Engineer account managers.
Ensure that compliance of all regulatory laws and guidelines are met as they relate to the operation of the building's electrical systems. Responsible for alerting management of building discrepancies.
Maintain all infrastructure and compliance documentation for the building including up-to-date building drawings and single lines as well as documentation mandated for the purpose of maintaining regulatory compliance with Federal, State or Local law.





Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Experience in comfort cooling and heating, humidifiers, refrigeration, and associated control systems.
Experience in various electrical, plumbing, mechanical, water, and compressed air systems.
Experience in general building maintenance and repair.
Universal CFC in Refrigerant Recovery
Strong troubleshooting skills of these systems.

Professional Skills: Technical Competence, Analysis/Problem Solving, Project Management, Teambuilding, Construction Planning and Execution.
Ability to manage third party contractors, securing bids, oversee small projects, and follow up to ensure work is completed properly within budget constraints
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally (verbal and written).
Working knowledge of computer applications including spreadsheets, word processing and CMMS systems

Systems Management
Perform preventive/predictive tasks when required. Oversee repair and preventative maintenance of HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing, and Electrical systems
Assist with critical after-hour issues & participate as a key team member in response to emergency situations.
Effectively use CMMS system to document and manage Preventive Maintenance and On Demand work.
Training
Provide training and support aimed at expanding the capabilities of the operations staff. Specific duties include but are not limited to: demonstrating the proper use and care of tools and instruments, giving hands on instruction, safety and troubleshooting procedures, recommending relevant outside courses for enrollment and instilling an overall level of professionalism in manner and appearance.
Ensure 100% on-time accomplishment of required training (JLL and customer), for self and direct reports.
