What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Operating Engineer position at JLL?
JLL has an exceptional opportunity for a Lead Operating Engineerto support our client in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
In this role, you will be responsible for supervising and directing one employee. You will direct all maintenance department service requests, check malfunctioning equipment and ascertain corrective action to restore to satisfactory operating condition, and help facilitate root cause analysis.
Here is some of what you will be doing:
Demonstrate the proper use and care of tools and instruments, giving hands-on instruction in basic maintenance, safety, and troubleshooting procedures, recommending relevant outside engineering courses for enrollment, and instilling an overall level of professionalism in manner and appearance.
Schedule preventative maintenance with a minimum disruption of building services, perform and/or delegate preventative maintenance tasks to the appropriately qualified maintenance staff member, order parts and equipment required for repair, maintenance, and installation of new equipment and facilities, and maintain inventory.
Ensure the timely performance of maintenance contract work, oversee the fulfillment of equipment warrantee obligations by the installer, and secure equip
Recommend and estimate facility repairs and improvements for inclusion in the annual budget
Prepare and submit purchase order requests, develop sources for stock materials, and perform periodic checks for supplies.
Annually implement at least one cost-savings action relating to energy or utility consumption
Here is who we are looking for:
A high school diploma or GED
5 years of building engineering experience in a healthcare facility
Experience with BMS and CMMS systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred:
2 years of trade school or vocational schooling or apprenticeship in electrical, piping/plumbing, or HVAC
Thorough understanding of Joint Commission and regulatory surveys
Work environment
Frequently walk up and down stairs for inspections and emergency procedures
Equipment inspections require getting on hands and knees to reach areas difficult to access
*Climb ladders up to 40 feet and lift 60 lbs repeatedly
Pay $30 HR
Schedule Monday - Friday 6 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. with on-call required every two weeks. Stand-by pay is provided during your on-call week.
