What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at JLL?
What this job involves - As a Maintenance Technician II, you will use your skills to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining various structural, mechanical, and electrical components and systems throughout the building as well as performing periodic preventive maintenance and participating in ongoing technical, safety and operational process training. In addition to developing your skills, you will have the opportunity to mentor junior technicians to grow in their roles.
What is the day to day?
- Promote a safe working environment by following safety procedures and participating in ongoing technical, safety and operational process training, as assigned
- Maintain a positive working relationship across the entire Operations facility
- Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials
- Complies with all State, County and City Ordinances, Codes, or laws
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace
- Perform routine preventative maintenance as required
- Accept and complete work orders as assigned by Facility Manager and Client
- Perform General Building Maintenance to include the following: Plumbing Repairs (Bathroom fixture repairs/replacement, drain cleaning/clearing, water filter replacements, appliance repairs or replacements); Electrical Repairs (Replace faulty batteries, wiring, fuses, switches, receptacles, motors, relays, lighting fixtures, ballasts, bulbs, etc.) Mechanical Repairs (Basic repairs to floor scrubbers, compactor, baling machines, mobile conveyers, man trucks, mobile carts, door and gate closers and hardware, tractor trailer jack stands, dock Door hardware, Dock leveler/restraint systems, etc.) HVAC Repairs (Belt and pulley replacements, filter replacements, coil cleaning, condensate drain cleaning and drain replacements).
- Additional maintenance duties include office furniture and cubicle assembly and repairs, hanging clocks, tv’s, monitors, etc., Racking, shelving and safety barrier repairs and replacements, Carpentry woodworking projects, drywall repairs, texturizing and painting, Floor and parking lot paint striping, Roof surface and concrete flooring repairs, Minor Landscape Irrigation repairs, and more.
Required
- 2 years of carpentry (metal and wood fabrication)
- 2 years of knowledge with electrical and electronic principles
- 2 years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service
- Basic experience reading blueprints and schematics
Preferred
- Bilingual is a plus
- Experience using CMMS or work order system
- 2 years commercial property maintenance experience
Shift
- 1st shift - Monday - Friday 7 AM to 3:30 PM
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

- Facilities maintenance: 3 years (Preferred)

- plumbing repairs: 1 year (Preferred)
- HVAC repairs: 1 year (Preferred)
