What this job involves JLL is seeking a Painter to join our team. The Painter provides support to assigned buildings. This role has responsibilities which include prepping surfaces, painting, performing touch-ups to multiple surfaces and finishes.

The painter must be able to work independently and in a team environment.

What is your day to day?

  • Communicating with clients to determine their painting requirements and helping them make the best decisions for their projects.
  • Assembling scaffolding as required
  • Covering trim, floors furniture, finishing and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint.
  • Setting up ventilators and other safety equipment to protect Painters from unhealthy fumes.
  • Preparing surfaces to be painted by washing them, filling holes and cracks with putty and sanding them until they’re smooth.
  • Applying primer and other sealers to paint surfaces to ensure that paint sticks to them.
  • Mixing and matching paint, stain and other finishes to job specifications.
  • Applying paint, stain and other finishes to paint surfaces using paintbrushes, rollers or sprayers.
  • Maintaining an inventory of supplies like paint brushes, rollers and tarps.
  • Removing old finish using scrapers, chemical compounds or blowtorches.
  • Estimating time and material costs on painting projects.
  • Cleaning machines, equipment and work areas using water, solvents and other cleaning aids.
  • Reviewing and implementing work orders and assignments.
  • Removing and reinstalling fixtures (e.g., doorknobs, electric switch covers) as necessary.
  • Following safeguards, rules and regulations.

Work Schedule

7AM - 3 : 30PM, Monday - Friday

Desired experience and technical skills

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Candidate must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • Must have ability to regularly lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to safely perform overhead work while standing on ladders up to 24 ft.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Lift and move heavy objects and equipment.
  • Skilled in handling painting tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Knowledge of proper surface preparation methods, including cleaning, sanding, and priming.
  • Ability to identify and address painting issues, such as surface imperfections or paint mixing problems.
  • Proper care and maintenance of painting tools, equipment, and work area. Ensuring a clean and organized job site.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other painters, construction professionals, and clients.
  • Flexibility to work in different environments, handle changing priorities, and adjust to various project requirements.

Preferred

  • Prior experience as a painter, preferably in commercial or industrial settings.
  • Proficiency in various painting techniques, such as brush, roller, and spray application.
  • Knowledge of different types of paint and finishes.
  • Ability to work meticulously and pay attention to the small details, such edging, trim work, and touch-ups.
  • Understanding of color theory and the ability to mix paints to achieve desired shades.
  • Knowledge of proper safety protocols and the ability to work with hazardous materials safely.
  • Efficiently managing time to complete painting projects within given timelines.
  • Good communication skills to understand client requirements and provide updates on progress.
  • Previous experience working in life sciences, pharmaceutical or Bio-Tech environment desired.
  • CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) experience desired.

36,960.00 54,080.00 USD
