Commissioning Engineer Job Objective

The Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for monitoring the assembly of JLS robotics systems, as well as configuration/programming, testing, and commissioning of JLS systems at JLS and Customer sites. The Commissioning Engineer will support the Lead System Engineer in the system testing after assembly is complete, during the customer FAT and during commissioning at the customer site. The Commissioning Engineer must enjoy hands on work, problem solving, programming, travel and striving to ensure automation equipment is functioning at peak performance. The Commissioning Engineer will constantly and consistently work with JLS Robotic Systems in a Hands-On manner.

This is a Full Time, Exempt position reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager.

Commissioning Engineer Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in the commissioning of systems to meet project deadlines;
• Engage with Lead Engineers or Mechanical/Electrical Designers to correct issues;
• Advise and guide manufacturing/shop resources during system assembly if/when needed;
• Configure and Program Delta Robot and B&R Trak motions to achieve desired system operation;
• Configure, Evaluate and Refine Robot End of Arm Tool Operations;
• Configure and test system conveyors as needed;
• Program Vision Systems for Target Locating and Inspection Operations;
• Assist in the planning and execution of System Installation and Commissioning at Customer Sites;
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Commissioning Engineer Qualifications

• 4-year college degree majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
• 2-10 years of technical/professional training;
• Knowledge of material conveyance, robotics, vision systems and automation are also preferred;
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks 3D design software preferred;
• Ability to perform multiple tasks with a diversity of problems;
• Some work is done independently without close supervision;
• Computer skills are required at an advanced level;
• Must exhibit the capability to generate problem solutions;
• Robotic/Vision System Configuration and Programming experience preferred;
• Ability to travel up to 25%;
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
